The St. Stephen Horseshoe Pitchers Club was created in February 2006 as a means to organize local horseshoe pitchers to host the 2007 New Brunswick Provincial Championships.
Since then, the Club has done more than anyone initially thought that it could do. It hosted the Provincial Championship four times in the next 6 years and the Maritime Championships twice during that time period. In total, the Club has hosted the Provincial Championships 5 times.
In 2015, the Club hosted the 2015 Canadian Horseshoe Pitching Championships at the Garcelon Civic Centre in St. Stephen, NB. The 2015 Championships used the tagline “Ringers by the River” and attracted over 200 pitchers to the event.
The Club has grown to become the largest horseshoe club east of Montreal and has won more Provincial and Maritime titles since 2006 than any other Club in New Brunswick and the Maritimes.
The Club success is built on its motto that “Everyone pitches”. No matter the skill level, all pitchers are able to pitch with the Club and new members are always welcome.
The Club meets on Tuesday night at Fraser Farm in Old Ridge, where Earle and Bernice Fraser host the Club in their front yard.
